Werder Bremen are in talks with Eintracht Frankfurt about the sale of their goalkeeper Michael Zetterer, Bremen managing director for professional football, Clemens Fritz, has confirmed.
"We are in talks, that is true. I don't want to keep it secret or dispute it. But we have to wait the next one, two, maybe even three or four days," Clemens said on Friday night.
Frankfurt goalkeeper Kevin Trapp is reportedly close to joining Paris FC, and they want Zetterer as his successor.
Zetterer was in tears after Bremen's 1-0 German Cup defeat at Arminia Bielefeld on the night.
This was interpreted as a sign it could have been his last Bremen game, but coach Horst Steffen would not share this view.
"He had a very good performance. He wasn't the only one who was disappointed. I don't want to comment on it much more," Steffen said.
Zetterer, 30, came to Bremen 10 years ago. He was confirmed as first choice keeper for the season last weekend by new coach Steffen.
