As Barcelona get set to take on RCD Mallorca later this evening in their first game of the 2025/26 season, they have managed to secure two crucial registrations in La Liga.

Indeed, after it was confirmed earlier this morning that Joan Garcia had been registered in the league, Barça have also secured the registration of fellow new signing Marcus Rashford.

The 27-year-old English forward arrived this summer on a season-long loan deal from Manchester United, with the Catalans retaining an option to buy.

Despite having offers from elsewhere, Rashford had always stayed firm on his desire to join Barcelona even though there were concerns about his registration.

There were reports that the Blaugrana might be unable to get him registered in time for today’s game vs Mallorca.

However, after relentless efforts, Barça have been successful in their endeavours, with Rashford now officially registered in La Liga – with his name now appearing on the official transfers page of the league website.

Rashford has been named in the squad for the Mallorca game and is all set to make his official debut today. With Robert Lewandowski absent through injury, it will be interesting to see if the Englishman starts ahead of Ferran Torres in the No. 9 position.

Meanwhile, Wojciech Szczensy, Gerard Martin, and Roony Bardghji have not been registered and are not included in the squad for the Mallorca game.
