A comment about injured star Caitlin Clark from an Indiana Fever reporter caused a stir on Tuesday.

Indiana Fever guard Caitlin Clark has not played since July 15, but there is still no timetable for her return as she recovers from a right groin injury.
As of Monday, Clark still has not returned to full practice with the team. Her absence is a massive loss — Clark is averaging 16.5 points, 8.8 assists and 5.0 rebounds in the 13 games she has played during the 2025 WNBA season.
Time is running out for Clark's return before the playoffs. Indiana has just 12 games remaining in the regular season, including Tuesday night's home contest against the Dallas Wings at 7:30 p.m. ET on ESPN.
Fans have been desperate for more information since Clark was ruled out indefinitely by the team on July 24.
On Tuesday, an unofficial comment on Clark's return via a YouTube post from local reporter Scott Agness became the latest talking point on social media.
Agness posted a video recap of the Fever's 92-70 win over the Chicago Sky on Sunday.
In the comments section, a user wrote: "Just can’t wait until CC is back."
"Have patience," Agness responded. "At least several more weeks."
It was not an official report, and Agness did not explain his reasoning for the timeline he provided. However, his words carried weight as a local expert on the Fever and Indiana Pacers who has reported on Indiana basketball since 2012 and used to work for the organization.
The comment made its way to X on Tuesday, and mixed responses filtered through as Fever fans dissected the possibility of waiting longer for Clark's return.
This is bad news. Considering that Caitlin Clark hasn’t started practicing, and we would ideally want 2 weeks of practice to make sure she is actually fully healthy this time, I think she comes back end of August, early September with a few games to ramp up for the playoffs.

"Several more weeks and the season is OVER," wrote a panicked fan on X.
"She's not coming back this season I wish Stephanie White would just be honest," said another.
She’s not coming back just accept it

"I mean there aren't even 'several more weeks' left in the season and they're clearly getting her ready to come back so," responded a more skeptical user.
"People are mad at him, but looking at the timeline he’s probably, unfortunately, correct," said a reply. "Considering Steph said they want to reintegrate her in training, she is a couple of weeks away."
After Tuesday's game against the Wings, the Fever play the Washington Mystics at home on Friday and the Connecticut Sun on the road on Sunday. Then they have four days off before a home game against the Minnesota Lynx on Friday, Aug. 22.
Officially, there is still no timetable for Clark's return, but Agness' comment made fans confront the possibility that her indefinite absence may continue longer than they would like.
