Phillies fans aren't holding back.
Phillies Fans Livid With Umpire After Giants Loss originally appeared on Athlon Sports.
If the Philadelphia Phillies eventually finish behind the New York Mets in the NL East, veteran umpire Phil Cuzzi may want to silence all notifications.
Phillies fans ripped Cuzzi on social media following Monday's 3-1 loss to the San Francisco Giants. The popular X/Twitter Umpire Auditor account found that Cuzzi missed 20 calls.
The most egregious came in the eighth inning. Cuzzi made two questionable calls on Phillies first baseman Bryce Harper, who led off the eighth with a groundout.
Then came the bottom of the inning. Cuzzi called three straight balls on Giants third baseman Matt Chapman, who eventually singled to right field on a 3-2 pitch. Shortstop Willy Adames moved from first to third, scoring later in the inning on a forceout.

"The other two outs that followed would have gotten them out of the inning without any runs scoring, even with the two hit batters," a Phillies fan argued. "Phil Cuzzi screwed us."
Added another: "This is awful, Little League umpire bad."
Harper openly criticized Cuzzi after the game, remarking that "he knows he needs to do better."
Phillies fans universally agreed, with many citing the 69-year-old Cuzzi's history of missed calls. Cuzzi has been a full-time umpire since 2000.
"Cris Sánchez deserved better," one user wrote. "Atrocious umpiring by Phil Cuzzi and quiet bats once again doomed the Phils."
"Phil Cuzzi's strike zone tonight was a joke," another fan vented. "Players deserve better. Fans deserve better. MLB has to do something — this is beyond frustrating."
According to UmpScorecards, Cuzzi entered Monday's game with a 94.03 correct call rate. UmpScorecards had not posted Cuzzi's score from Monday's game as of publication.
