Aston Villa have told the representatives of Barcelona right-back Hector Fort to inform them should the Spaniard look to leave the La Liga club this summer, according to reports from Fabrizio Romano and Spain. Villans manager Unai Emery is open to adding a right-back to his defence at the Villa Park club as he prepares for the Europa League this term, and initial talks are ongoing over a potential move for Fort. The 19-year-old La Masia graduate could leave Barca in the coming days, and a move to the Premier League could be tempting to him.

Fort featured in 20 games across all competitions for the La Liga champions last term after playing ten games in 2023-24, but a sale is on the cards as his club are struggling to register new players for the new season. Villa are monitoring the situation and are ready to pounce as they need quality squad depth in their bid to impress across four competitions in 2025-26. Fort can also play at left-back, with his ability to retain possession, pass and move the ball brilliantly from the back to launch an attack qualities Emery admires.
The highly talented Spain youth international has huge potential and is capable of becoming a world-class full-back under the guidance of the Villa star.
