According to The Athletic, the striker's made it clear he won't play for the Magpies again and sees his career at St James Park as over even if transfer doesn't materialise before the window closes.

Player Holds Out for Anfield Switch

Journalist Ben Jacobs reports that Isak's given "full priority" to joining Liverpool and will only reconsider if the club tells him the move is impossible.

Despite his stance and threats to boycott matches, Newcastle haven't fined him and on Tuesday even confirmed he will retain his number 14 shirt for next season .. a sign of their determination to keep last year’s top scorer.

Manager Eddie Howe's avoided openly criticising Isak hinting only that the striker is "not in the right frame of mind" to train or play.

Isak joined Newcastle from Real Sociedad in 2022 and was pivotal last season scoring 27 goal and providing 6 assist in 42 match helping the club lift the EFL cup.
