PSG advanced to the semifinals of the 2025 FIFA Club World Cup after a dramatic win over Bayern Munich on Saturday in Atlanta. The first half was tight and ended scoreless, but things heated up late in the second.
Désiré Doué broke the deadlock in the 78th minute to give PSG a vital lead. What followed was chaos, as PSG dropped to nine players after two red cards. Still, they stood strong and even found a second goal to seal the win.
Ousmane Dembélé scored that crucial second goal with his very first touch, finishing off a brilliant run by Achraf Hakimi. The right-back slalomed through Bayern’s defense before delivering a perfect cutback for Dembélé.
Later, Real Madrid narrowly defeated Borussia Dortmund 3-2 in a tough battle. The Spanish side won but faced some tense moments along the way.

Ahead of the semifinal match between these two European heavyweights, 2006 FIFA World Cup winner Mateo Materazzi stated that he sees the Parisians continuing this impressive run under manager Luis Enrique and reaching the final.
“Real Madrid vs. PSG is a big match, and it’s not easy to predict who will be in the final,” Materazzi said (h/t MARCA). “On the other side is Fluminense; I think they play very well and can reach the final. My prediction is Fluminense and PSG in the final.”
