The NBA free agency market has been buzzing with major names finding new homes or stirring up rumors. The Milwaukee Bucks, coming off a whirlwind offseason that included waiving Damian Lillard and signing Myles Turner, now appear ready for another bold move. And they’re not alone; teams like the Los Angeles Lakers, Golden State Warriors, Phoenix Suns and Los Angeles Clippers are also eyeing impactful additions to gear up for a deep playoff run.
One name making waves across the league? Malcolm Brogdon.
The 32-year-old guard, who just completed a two-year, $45 million contract with the Washington Wizards, is a former NBA Rookie of the Year and Sixth Man of the Year. The Wizards, according to insider Jake Fischer, are “open to sign-and-trade discussions to facilitate Brogdon’s exit,” and Milwaukee is among the teams showing interest.
The Bucks could certainly use a reliable veteran presence in the backcourt, especially after Lillard’s departure. Despite an injury-plagued season in Washington, Brogdon still holds solid career averages of 12.7 points, 3.8 rebounds and 4.1 assists while shooting nearly 39% from beyond the arc.
His ability to create, defend and score makes him a valuable asset—especially for a team like the Bucks looking to support Giannis Antetokounmpo’s championship ambitions.

The competition won’t be easy. Per Fischer, the list of suitors includes the Lakers, Clippers, Suns, Warriors, Minnesota Timberwolves, New Orleans Pelicans and Sacramento Kings. That’s a loaded field, but Milwaukee’s strong frontcourt and a clear backcourt gap could be the right fit for Brogdon.
While nothing is official yet, the Bucks are clearly trying to make another key splash. With Brogdon’s championship experience and two-way ability, this could be a perfect match if the price is right.
As the guard market continues to shake out, keep an eye on Bucks. They might not be done just yet.
