The Notre Dame football staff is preparing for their season opener on the road against Miami at the end of the month, but recruiting never stops for a Marcus Freeman-led group of coaches.
On Monday, Notre Dame running backs coach Ja’Juan Seider dished out an offer to McDonough (Ga.) Ola class of 2027 running back Caden Waye.
The 5-11, 190-pounder is the No. 123 overall player and No. 8 running back nationally according to the Rivals Industry Ranking, an equally weighted average that utilizes all three major recruiting services. He’s also the No. 16 recruit from his home state of Georgia.
Rivals’ own rankings have as the No. 141 prospect and No. 13 running back in the land, plus the No. 22 player from Georgia.
Wayne ran for 1,194 yards with 18 total touchdowns last season, while adding 4 interceptions and 51 tackles on defense.
Seider has offered 12 running backs in the 2027 class. Of that group, the Irish seem to be in good shape with Springfield (Mass.) Central’s Isaiah Rogers, the No. 148 recruit and No. 12 running back in the country per the Rivals Industry Ranking.
Notre Dame is looking to flip McKeesport (Pa.) High’s Kemon Spell, a Penn State commit who is the No. 9 player and top running back nationally per the Rivals Industry Ranking. He’s a five-star prospect who has been pledged to the Nittany Lions since August 2024.

Quote of the day
“Tiki Hola is a ferocious worker. When you watch him on film, he has a relentless style which always translates to college. He won’t back down. He’s not as athletically gifted as Elijah, but he might be a slightly better player. I really like him a lot.”
