Texas’ Lamborghini Tactics Predicted to Fall Flat for Nation’s No. 2 ATH

Texas' Lambroghini tactics predicted to fall flat for highly touted recruit.

The Texas Longhorns have an impressive 2026 recruiting class, holding a total of 17 commitments, which ranks No. 5 in the SEC and No. 13 in the nation.

They aren't done yet either, as one name they're still looking to land is athlete Jalen Lott out of Lucas, Texas, who has visited the program a total of five times.

During his official visit with the Longhorns on June 13, they pulled out all the stops with a video posted by linebacker Elijah Barnes showing that the team had multiple Lamborghinis lined up on Darrell K Royal-Texas Memorial Stadium for recruits to see.

However, flaunting those supercars may not be enough for them to land Lott, as expert predictions from On3's Justin Wells and Eric Nahlin made on Monday have him landing with the Oregon Ducks.

This outcome would be a huge win for Oregon, as On3 places Lott as a four-star recruit, the No. 2 athlete, the No. 8 player in Texas and the No. 54 player in the nation.

Last season, he put up some solid numbers for Panther Creek High School, appearing in 12 games, accumulating 85 receptions, 1,111 yards and 16 touchdowns while also having 106 rushing yards and four touchdowns.

Having Oregon sit as the current front runners doesn't come as a huge surprise either, as they've been active in Lott's recruiting process, hosting him for two visits, including an official one on June 20.

If he does land with the Ducks, he would add nicely to their even more impressive 2026 recruiting class, currently ranking No. 3 in the Big Ten and No. 8 in the nation.

However, Texas stands in the battle, with Lott set to announce his commitment on Tuesday, choosing among the Longhorns, the Ducks, the USC Trojans and the LSU Tigers.
