Nation's No. 1 Recruit Predicted to Choose Big 12 Team Over Alabama, Georgia originally appeared on Athlon Sports.
Throughout the entire year, many college football programs see almost no downtime regarding recruiting players from high school.
One name that several high-powered teams are making a push for is the Class of 2027 EDGE LaDamion Guyton out of Savannah, Georgia.
Despite still having two more years at the high school level, Guyton has taken multiple visits, including with Georgia (June 1, 2023, and Sep. 16, 2023), Alabama (Sep. 28, 2024), South Carolina (April 18) and Texas Tech (June 22).
However, instead of landing within the SEC, an expert prediction logged on Saturday from On3's Sam Spiegelman has Guyton going with the Red Raiders to play under head coach Joey McGuire.

If this scenario did end up becoming a reality, it would be a huge win for Texas Tech, as On3 places him as a five-star recruit and the No. 1 player in the nation.
In the past two seasons for Savannah Christian High School, Guyton has proven to be a very effective player, accumulating 134 tackles, 33 tackles for loss, 16.5 sacks, two forced fumbles and two fumble recoveries in 20 games.
However, the four teams he's visited with are not his only options, as he's also received offers from other talented programs such as Tennessee, Auburn, Oregon, North Carolina, LSU and USC.
If Guyton did end up with Texas Tech, then it would also be the second consecutive recruiting class to land a five-star, after also receiving a commitment from 2026 offensive tackle Felix Ojo on Friday.
