Former Memphis baseball standout Hunter Goodall earns first MLB All-Star nod

Memphis native and former Tigers baseball star, Hunter Goodman, was selected to the MLB All-Star team.

Memphis native Hunter Goodman was selected to the Rockies 2025 MLB All-Star Team for the first time in his career on July 6.

Goodman, catcher for the Colorado Rockies, is the third Memphis Tiger in program history to be selected to a MLB All-Star Team. He joins Memphis Sports Hall of Famer Charlie Lea and Dan Uggla as the only ones who have achieved All-Star status.

In his third season, he has 16 home runs and a .281 batting average.

During his career with the Tigers, Goodman hit 42 homers and a .323 batting average. He was the first Tiger in history to be named an All-American as a freshman.

Hunter Goodman made his MLB debut in 2023.

Germantown's Brent Rooker was also named to an All-Star Team this season.

Rooker, the Athletics' right fielder, was named to his second All-Star Game during his five career. He has 18 home runs and a .271 batting average for the A's this season.

The Germantown native attended Evangelical Christian and later played at Mississippi State as an outfielder. In his career as a Bulldog, he had 37 homers, a .350 batting average, and a .998 fielding percentage. In 2017 he was named All SEC and conference player of the year.
