WHAT’S UP TODAY

First up this morning in your Miami Hurricanes news?

There was the first fall scrimmage yesterday, with coach Mario Cristobal sharing his thoughts afterward. We also continue to bring you tons of information from the practice field as the Miami Hurricanes continue to gear up for the season and Game 1 vs. Notre Dame. We have closer looks at QBs Carson Beck and the young guys in the room, don’t miss Gary Ferman’s column on WR CJ Daniels and we have plenty more for you including how Corey Hetherman is attacking things on his side of the ball.

In recruiting?

Check out our updates from Miami Dolphins’ High School Media Day Saturday at Hard Rock Stadium with key targets Jasen Lopez, Mark Matthews, Derrek Cooper, Julius Jones and Zayden Gamble.

Other updates for you:

Hollywood (Fla.) McArthur four-star 2027 safety Jaylyn Jones is still solid in his commitment to Miami and feels there’s a gap between the Hurricanes and the next-closest team, but there are still a number of schools showing interest. Get the latest there.

Another update is with Rock Hill (S.C.) Northwestern three-star 2026 Texas A&M linebacker commit Tamarion Watkins. He is planning a visit to Miami this fall.

Charlotte (N.C.) William Amos Hough four-star 2026 receiver Tyran Evans discusses how solid he is in his UM pledge.

And Cocoa (Fla.) four-star 2026 Florida cornerback commit CJ Hester is pondering visiting The U for the Hurricanes’ game against Florida Sept. 20.

Other updates are with Long Beach (Fla.) Long Beach Poly top-25 cornerback Juju Johnson, the No. 1 recruit in California in the 2027 cycle, and Grayson (Ga.) Brookwood four-star 2027 running back Brayden Tyson. Both discuss their UM interest.

Plus we catch up with four-star Miami offensive line commit Joel Ervin, who’s had interest from several other programs. Where does he stand?

And, as always, stay tuned today for any news that may come up.

MESSAGE BOARD POST OF THE DAY

Beck and Bell … Posted by EDALAW.13

This quote from Bell says it all:

““I like how humble he came in in the first place,” offensive lineman Markel Bell said. “And just him taking charge. This is his huddle, his offense. So he took charge of it. And I really, really appreciate that.”

Oh Nelly, we good to go.
