Milwaukee Bucks formally welcomed top free agent signing Myles Turner. Turner can make up to $107 million in four years.
The Milwaukee Bucks formally signed free agent center Myles Turner on July 6 and announced the transaction July 7 with a statement from general manager Jon Horst:
“We are thrilled that Myles chose our team and city! He’s a winner and a dynamic player who fits us on both ends of the court. This is a big day for the Bucks and the Milwaukee community, and we are excited to welcome Myles and his family.”
Turner, 30, was signed away from Eastern Conference rival Indiana on a four-year deal that could reach $107 million. The final year of the contract is a player option, and there is a trade kicker included that would increase his salary by 15%.
Turner was the longest-tenured Pacers player in leading them to their first NBA Finals trip in a quarter century, and he helped topple the Bucks in consecutive first-round playoff matchups.
He has appeared in 66 career playoff games, averaging 13.8 points, 6.0 rebounds and 1.9 blocks per game.
In helping Indiana reach the finals last season, Turner averaged 15.6 points and shot 39.6% from behind the 3-point line. He also averaged 6.5 rebounds and 2.0 blocks.
Since entering the league as the No. 11 pick in the 2015 draft, Turner has led the NBA in blocked shots per game in 2019 and 2021 and in total blocked shots in 2019.
Turner is entering his 11th year in the league, but since becoming more of a “high volume” 3-point shooter in 2020, he has shot 36.2% from distance.
To create the salary cap space necessary to sign Turner outright as a free agent, the Bucks had to waive all-star guard Damian Lillard and stretch the remaining $113 million of his contract over five years. That mechanic reduced Lillard’s salary in 2025-26 from $54 million to $22.5 million.
