Lille OSC’s Bafodé Diakité (24) will undergo his medical on Sunday, ahead of joining Bournemouth on a permanent deal, according to a report from Le Parisien.
Illia Zabarnyi’s impending move to Paris Saint-Germain from Bournemouth has opened the door to the Cherries’ completion of a move for Diakité, who has been a target throughout the summer window. Zabarnyi is expected to join PSG in the coming days, before Les Parisiens’ UEFA Super Cup game against Tottenham Hotspur on Wednesday, they hope, for a fee of €63m.
€40m of that will be directly reinvested in Diakité. Le Parisien expect that deal to be completed soon. The publication understands that the centre-back will undergo his medical on Sunday. That medical is expected to last the entire day, and will take place in London.
Zabarnyi, meanwhile, is still in the UK, however, the Ukrainian will soon travel to Paris before penning a five-year deal with Les Parisiens.
