Four-time Formula One champion Sebastian Vettel on Saturday said he could envision a future role in the sport, but ruled out returning as a driver.

Speaking to German public broadcaster ZDF, Vettel said his racing career was over but said he thought it would be possible to "take on one or another role in the future."

Red Bull motorsport adviser Helmut Marko previously described Vettel as a potential successor.

Vettel ended his F1 career at the end of 2022, citing a desire to spend more time with his family. He and his wife Hanna have three children.

Most recently, there was speculation about Vettel competing in the World Endurance Championship (WEC). Vettel told ZDF that he once tested a Porsche endurance car out of interest and enjoyed it, but nothing has come of it so far.

The 38-year-old said he is currently busy with other things. He is training to become a farmer, involved in environmental and sustainability projects, and co-owns the Germany SailGP sailing team.
