DiJonai Carrington is not with the Dallas Wings for their trip to Phoenix on Monday.
Paige Bueckers’ Teammate Missing Sixth Straight Game on Monday originally appeared on Athlon Sports.
Paige Bueckers and the Dallas Wings (6-13) will be shorthanded once again when they take on the Phoenix Mercury (12-6) on Monday night.
It is the first of three road games for Dallas this week, followed by matchups with Angel Reese and the Chicago Sky on Wednesday and a trip to Gainbridge Fieldhouse to battle the Indiana Fever on Sunday.
The Wings will be looking for a repeat of last Thursday, when they beat the Mercury at home 98-89 without the services of Arike Ogunbowale and DiJonai Carrington.
Carrington is dealing with a rib injury and did not travel with the team to Phoenix, which will mark her sixth consecutive missed game. The Wings traded Carrington's girlfriend, NaLyssa Smith, to the Aces on June 30.
For Ogunbowale, it will be her second straight game out with a thumb injury. She is averaging a career-low 16.8 points per game and was left off the 2025 WNBA All-Star roster this year for the first time since 2020.
Bueckers, 23, has led the team impressively without her stellar backcourt partners. She is averaging 18.7 points per game, picking up the slack while Dallas is missing 28.6 combined points per game from Carrington and Ogunbowale.
The No. 1 overall draft pick was named a starter for the WNBA All-Star Game, and she will find out which team she will be on when captains Clark and Napheesa Collier select their teams on Tuesday.
Will 🧵 out some clips from today’s practice availability.

While Carrington continued her recovery, she was thrust back into the news on Sunday — and she was not thrilled about it.
CNN released an excerpt from Christine Brennan's book about Caitlin Clark, "On Her Game," which detailed behind-the-scenes conflict between the journalist and Carrington after an incident with Clark and a controversial interview question while she played for the Connecticut Sun last year.
