UFC flyweight champion Alexandre Pantoja is technically the most dominant current champion in the UFC right now, as he has the most title defenses out of all the promotion’s current champions. You wouldn’t know it due to his stature and humble demeanor, but he has defended his flyweight championship belt a total of four times since taking the belt from former champion Brandon Moreno. While he does not have the loudest and most brash personality of all the champions, his impressive championship reign has given him the quiet confidence to shoot for even loftier goals.

In a recent interview with Home of Fight’s Jaiden Cable, UFC flyweight champion Alexandre Pantoja made his ambitions crystal clear. He revealed a plan to gun for the title of the greatest of all time.
With a record-breaking reign already underway, Pantoja believes he is on track to surpass even Demetrious “Mighty Mouse” Johnson’s legendary accomplishments.
"Give me 3 years, I can make this record.” Pantoja declared, outlining his path. “I can break all the records. Two fights every year, I get six more, it's going to be 11 title fights."
The main record he wants to beat is Johnson’s consecutive title defenses at 11.
This confidence does not come from nowhere. At UFC 317, he submitted Kai Kara-France to secure his fourth straight title defense, surpassing Johnson in key statistical categories, including most wins (14), most submissions (6), and most finishes (8) in UFC flyweight history.
Despite his confidence, he also wants to make sure he is focusing on his career one-fight at a time before he zooms out and looks at his legacy from a bird’s-eye view.
"I want to break the records, but I don't focus on that,” he told Cable. “I have my own records to break. The only guy I try to be better than is myself."
Next up for "The Cannibal" is a showdown with surging 23-year-old contender Joshua Van, who earned his shot after a thrilling win over Brandon Royval.
Pantoja sees the matchup as a career-defining challenge, saying, "He is a good fighter. For me it's like Rocky 6, when Rocky needed to fight with the young guy. That's what I need, a very good challenge for me."
At 35, Pantoja has already defied the odds by becoming the first men’s flyweight champion to successfully defend his belt past that age. If he can maintain his current pace, his legacy may soon be undeniable
"I don't like to talk too much, I'm not that type,” Pantoja said, reinforcing his no-nonsense approach. “I'm ready to fight right now, you know?"
