Andreas Christensen could be offered a contract extension by Barcelona following news that Inigo Martinez is set to leave the club and join Al-Nassr.
The Dane had been tipped to leave this summer but has made it clear he wants to stay put and see out the remaining year on his existing deal.
According to Diario Sport, he may also be offered the chance to extend his stay in Catalunya. Barca may offer him another 12 months in a move which would also ensure he does not leave as a free agent next summer.
Christensen missed most of last season through injury but returned to fitness during the end of the campaign and has also featured in pre-season.
It remains to be seen how much he will play in 2025-26, but if he can stay fit then he is a real option to come into the starting XI in place of Martinez and partner Pau Cubarsi.
Christensen has also featured in midfield under Flick, making him a versatile option, although the German hardly lacks for midfield options right now.
