A Club Brugge move for Aleksandar Stankovic could unlock the deal for Ardon Jashari to join AC Milan this summer.

This according to today’s print edition of Rome-based newspaper Corriere dello Sport, via FCInterNews.

Inter Milan midfielder Aleksandar Stankovic spent the last season on loan with Swiss club Luzern.

The 19-year-old has enjoyed an outstanding campaign. So much so that he has even been tipped to win the midfielder of the year award for the Swiss Super League.

Luzern had a purchase option on Aleksandar Stankovic. They can sign the Serb on a permanent basis for a fee of €1.5 million.

However, Inter in turn had a buyback clause, and can bring Stankovic back immediately.

Inter Midfielder Aleksandar Stankovic One Step From Club Brugge

Belgian giants Club Brugge have reportedly come to the head of the queue to sign Stankovic this summer.

The Belgians will reportedly pay Inter a fee of around €10 million for the Serb.

And the Corriere dello Sport note that Brugge see Stankovic as a replacement for 22-year-old Swiss international midfielder Ardon Jashari.

Therefore, Brugge are waiting to sign Stankovic before they will let Jashari leave.

That would be big news, ironically, for Inter’s city rivals AC Milan.

The Rossoneri have been pushing to sign Jashari. And they appear to have everything in place for the transfer, but no green light from Brugge.

That would all change in the event that the Belgians wrap up a deal for Stankovic.
