Brentford attacker Yoane Wissa is prepared to wait for Newcastle United in his bid to play in the Champions League next season, according to journalist and transfer insider Ben Jacobs.
Newcastle want the Bees star as manager Eddie Howe looks to bolster his attacking ranks at the St James’ Park club, and they have received a boost as the London club are now prepared to sell the 28-year-old once a replacement is found.
NEOM and Al-Nassr also want the Magpies target and the Saudi duo believe Brentford will sell him for around £40 million.

NEOM and Al-Nassr have both made recent approaches, as revealed last week. Both Saudi clubs believe Brentford will sell for around £40m.

The Bees have Ipswich Town’s Omari Hutchinson and Bournemouth attacker Dango Ouattara on their radar as they prepare for life without Wissa, and Newcastle are prepared to bid for him again after their previous offers were knocked back.
The Magpies have missed out on the likes of Benjamin Sesko, Hugo Ekitike, Liam Delap and Joao Pedro, while Alexander Isak is looking to leave. Howe will be desperate to finally sign an attacker, and getting Wissa will be hugely relieving.
Brentford are one of the clubs interested in Dango Ouattara, who has told Bournemouth he wants to explore a move away.

Ipswich’s Omari Hutchinson is another player of interest, and Brentford face competition from Nottingham Forest.

The France-born DR Congo international ended last term with 19 goals and five assists in 35 Premier League games after weighing in with 12 goals and four assists in 34 league appearances in 2023-24, and Newcastle could do with such a quality forward in the final third.
Wissa boasts impressive finishing and can play as a number 9 and on the left wing, and the chance to impress in the Champions League appeals to him after four seasons at the Brentford Community Stadium.
Newcastle have signed Southampton goalkeeper Aaron Ramsdale on loan while Anthony Elanga and Antonio Cordero have been added to their attack.
However, they need more outfield signings if they want to win major silverware next term and go far in the Champions League, and Wissa will be a great addition to their squad.
