CHEBOYGAN – There were so many great athletes to watch during the 2024-25 Cheboygan-area high school sports year.
With the past school year in the books, be sure to cast your vote on who you think was the top boys athlete in the Cheboygan area for 2024-25.
The poll opens on Monday morning and closes at 11 p.m. on Wednesday.
Here’s a look at the nominees:
Luke Munger, Cheboygan – Cheboygan football’s top player of 2025 earned all-state honors during his final season with the program. In wrestling, he captured a conference title and qualified for the state finals. Munger also earned all-Northern Shores second team honors in baseball.
Sean Postula, Cheboygan – The Daily Tribune’s 2025 baseball player of the year earned all-state accolades as an honorable mention, in addition to all-conference honors in baseball and football.
Carson Kiefer, Cheboygan – Named the Daily Tribune’s 2025 boys basketball player of the year, Kiefer captured all-conference first team recognition in basketball and cross country.
Aidan Fenstermaker, Inland Lakes – Finished up a stellar football career by earning all-state honors and being named the Daily Tribune’s 8-man football player of the year. Fenstermaker picked up all-conference first team honors in football, basketball and baseball.
Wyatt Hanel, Inland Lakes – Earned all-state football honors. He then qualified for the state finals in wrestling. In football and baseball, he earned all-Ski Valley first team accolades.
Braylon Currie, Mackinaw City – Earned all-conference first team honors in cross country and baseball. In baseball, he was one of the best pitchers in the area, picking up all-district accolades.
Mason Beebe, Onaway – Named to the Daily Tribune’s all-area first team and all-Ski Valley Conference first team in basketball, while also being one of Onaway’s best players in baseball.
Levi Rigot, Onaway – An all-conference and all-area first team player in football, Rigot was also a state qualifier in wrestling and track and field during his final year with the Cardinals.
Brach Taylor, Pellston – Earned a spot on the all-Ski Valley and all-area football teams during the fall, then finished up his career as one of the best hurdlers in the Ski Valley Conference.
