The Sacramento Kings have had an interesting offseason thus far as they have made multiple moves to upgrade their roster and compete for a playoff spot next season.
Of course, this was the opposite of what many around the NBA expected Sacramento to do this summer as they expected the franchise to begin a rebuild.
Instead, the Kings have kept their core of Domantas Sabonis, DeMar DeRozan and Zach LaVine intact and they also added Nique Clifford and Maxime Raynaud in the 2025 draft and Dennis Schroder in free agency to upgrade their roster.
Sacramento has also been linked to many other players this summer, including Jonathan Kuminga and Russell Westbrook, so they may not be done making moves.
While the Kings are still looking to bring in more talent to their roster, one of their former players was in the headlines on Tuesday.
Richaun Holmes signs with EuroLeague team
That player is Richaun Holmes who has agreed to a deal with Panathinaikos of the EuroLeague that will make him one of the highest-paid players in Europe, according to HoopsHype’s Michael Scotto.

For Holmes, he now leaves the NBA for the EuroLeague after playing 10 seasons with five different teams, including the Kings.
The 31-year-old center was the 37th overall pick in the 2015 draft by the Philadelphia 76ers where he spent the first three seasons of his career.
Most of Holmes’ success in the NBA came during his four seasons in Sacramento from 2019 to 2023.
In those four seasons, the 6-10 big man averaged 10.4 points, 6.6 rebounds, 1.0 assists and 1.1 blocks per game while shooting 64.4% from the field.
After spending four seasons with the Kings, Holmes then spent time with the Dallas Mavericks and Washington Wizards.
Last season, Holmes played in 31 games for the Wizards where he averaged 7.4 points, 5.7 rebounds and 1.4 assists per game while shooting 64.7% from the field.
Now the 31-year-old big man will head overseas after a massive payday, though it would not be a surprise if he makes a return to the NBA at some point in the future.
