Sunday’s contest at the Target Center in Minneapolis unfolded much like the Chicago Sky’s season to date: flashes of promise overshadowed by persistent lapses.
The Sky fell 80-75 to the Minnesota Lynx as a dominant second quarter by the home side proved the decisive stretch.
Despite out‑rebounding the Lynx 45-37 and shooting an efficient 43.5% from 3-point range, Chicago couldn’t withstand Minnesota’s transition attack late in the game.
Sky coach Tyler Marsh, in his first season at the helm, said as much in his postgame remarks.

Marsh arrived in Chicago with credentials that few first‑time head coaches can match.
After a playing career at UAB and Birmingham‑Southern, he began coaching in the NBA G League before stints with the Toronto Raptors (as video coordinator and player development coach) and the Indiana Pacers.
More recently, he was an assistant under Becky Hammon in Las Vegas, helping the Aces win back‑to‑back WNBA titles in 2022 and 2023.
Hired by the Sky on November 3, 2024, Marsh has been tasked with anchoring the rebuilding of a team around young stars Angel Reese and Kamilla Cardoso.
Unfortunately, through 17 games, he's led a team that's now on the brink of losing its season, holding a 5-12 overall record, fifth in the Eastern Conference standings.
Chicago's next shot at redemption comes Tuesday with a road game against the Washington Mystics.
