It's official! After three years at Anfield, Uruguayan striker Darwin Núñez will leave Liverpool for Al Hilal in Saudi Arabia. The Saudi club Al Hilal has reached an agreement with the Reds for a deal that could total up to €65 million.
Darwin Núñez is definitively closing the Liverpool chapter. The 26-year-old center-forward from Uruguay is preparing to join Al Hilal in the summer of 2025. A final agreement has been reached between the two clubs for a total fee of around €65M (€53M guaranteed and €12M in bonuses), with the player giving his approval to this project led by Simone Inzaghi. The transfer will be finalized pending his medical and contract signing.
Having arrived from Benfica in 2022 for a record €75 million fee for Liverpool, the striker never quite managed to live up to that investment. His inconsistent performances led the Reds' management to accept the Saudi offer. Núñez is now prioritizing a fresh start in Saudi Arabia.
