SANDY, Utah (ABC4 Sports) – Real Salt Lake earned its first three-point victory in the 2025 Leagues Cup on Wednesday, but it wasn’t enough to advance to the quarterfinals.

Braian Ojeda scored the only goal of the game in the 32nd minute to give RSL a 1-0 victory over Querétaro from Liga MX at America First Field.

For Ojeda, this was his third goal in the last two games, and fourth in his last four matches. Ojeda came into this stretch with just two career MLS goals.

But RSL needed to pile up several goals to have a chance to advance on goal differential, and they could not muster up any more offense in the match.

Real Salt Lake had 11 shots, but just one on frame. Querétaro didn’t fare any better with just one shot on goal as Rafael Cabral made just one save for the shutout.

After two shootouts in its first two Leagues Cup games against Club America and Atletico de San Luis, RSL finishes the tournament with six points.
