Arsenal Are Still In Talks To Land This Crystal Palace Talent: What Will He Bring To North London?

In a recent newsletter with Give Me Sport, renowned journalist Fabrizio Romano mentioned that Arsenal are still in talks to land Crystal Palace talent Eberechi Eze. Romano said,

“Not yet, no club-to-club talks yet, but conversations with his agents have continued since June.”

Eze’s Impressive Form In The Premier League

Eze had another impressive season at the London club after he produced a run of productive displays for them in the final third. The 27-year-old found the back of the net 14 times and earned 11 assists in 43 matches for the Eagles in the previous campaign across various competitions.

The English talent deserves a ton of credit for averaging 3.48 shots per 90 minutes in the Premier League. He kept 27% of his attempts on target. Eze even distributed the ball relatively well, based on his pass completion rate of 74.2% in the English first division (stats via fbref.com).

His current contract at Selhurst Park will run out in the summer of 2027. Thus, it won’t be easy for Arsenal to sign him on a cut-price deal this off-season.

What Will Eze Bring To Arsenal?

Eze is a decent dribbler with the ball at his feet and can make a few dangerous runs in the opponent’s half. He can shoot the ball with power from long range and has got the eye to play some decisive passes on the offensive end of the field.

The English sensation is primarily an attacking midfielder but can also fill in as a left-winger if asked to do so by his manager. He already knows the Premier League well and is well-equipped to make an immediate impact at the North London club if they can find a way to get a deal done for him this summer.

We can expect Eze to bring more quality and depth to Arsenal head coach Mikel Arteta’s frontline. He is more than capable of earning a regular starting spot at the Emirates Stadium next season.

At 27, Eze is about to enter his prime, which makes him a good option for the Gunners to consider in this transfer period. Therefore, Arteta should consider going all out to acquire the services of the English talent before the start of the new Premier League campaign.
