Texas tight end Jack Endries was named to the Biletnikoff Award watch list on Wednesday, the Tallahassee Quarterback Club Foundation, Inc. announced. The Biletnikoff is given annually to college football’s outstanding FBS receiver. Any player, regardless of position (wide receiver, tight end, slot back, and running back) who catches a pass is eligible for the award, per the Biletnikoff.

Endries, a transfer from Cal who arrives at Texas as a junior, caught 56 passes for 623 yards and two touchdowns last year for the Golden Bears. In 2023, Endries hauled in 35 receptions for 407 yards and two touchdowns. He started his career as a walk-on and redshirted during the 2022 season. He was an honorable mention All-ACC selection in 2024 and earned multiple freshman All-America honors in 2023.
“Jack Endries gives us a proven pass receiver and then he gives us a physical blocker in the box that’s not necessarily the biggest guy,” Texas tight ends coach Jeff Banks said last week. “That’s what we were looking for in the transfer portal. (A guy) that could mesh with our team and fit our offense. When we saw him play at Cal, he was sliding back, he was inserting, he was doing a lot of things that we do in the run game. Then you see him vertically get past defenders, and you’re like ‘sweet, we’ve got a big time pass receiver that can block.”
Texas has never had a player take home the Biletnikoff. The Longhorns’ only finalist for the award was Jordan Shipley, who finished behind Golden Tate of Notre Dame in 2009. Travis Hunter of Colorado was the 2024 Biletnikoff winner.
Semifinalists will be announced on November 17. Finalists will be announced on November 25. The Biletnikoff will be awarded at The Home Depot College Football Awards Show on December 11.
