Ole Miss basketball on Wednesday released its 18-game SEC slate.
The Rebels open on the road for the fifth time in the last six seasons. They’ll travel to Oklahoma on Saturdya, January 3 before returning home for a pair of games with Arkansas (January 6/7) and Missouri (January 10). They’ll then spend the following week on the road, traveling to Georgia for a midweek game on January 13 or 14 before going to Starkville for their rivalry game with Mississippi State on Saturday, January 17.
Game times, TV designations, and midweek game dates will be released at a later date.
“I think they’re going to be really deep,” Ole Miss athletics director and Rebel basketball legend Keith Carter told Rebel Grove. “The front court’s going to be really good and deep as well. Just the athleticism [and] they’re playing super hard. That’s the main thing right now as they kind of gel together. Coach [Chris] Beard was just talking about, ‘Hey, they’re playing really hard.’ And that’s the key. You don’t want to coach effort.”
Ole Miss will welcome Auburn, a Final Four team last season, to the SJB Pavilion on January 20 or 21, before a trip to Rupp Arena to face off with Kentucky on Saturday, January 24. The Rebels have never won in Rupp in 19 previous showdowns.
The Rebels feature three returners from last season’s 24-win team.
They signed three Top 100 recruits and eight transfers, including former Eurobasket MVP Ilias Kamardine.
Ole Miss in 2024-25 matched the program’s greatest-ever single-season accomplishment and reached the Sweet 16 of the NCAA Tournament. The Rebels lost double-digit seniors but replenished their roster with transfers from, among others, Kentucky, LSU, Kansas, Butler, Louisville, St. John’s, Washington and Wisconsin.
Ole Miss gets a midweek break before hosting Vanderbilt in Oxford on Saturday, January 31. February opens with a midweek contest at Tennessee. The Rebels remain on the road for a Saturday game at Texas on Saturday, February 7. They spend the following week at home, hosting Alabama on February 10 or 11, and their second matchup with Mississippi State on Saturday, February 14.
Ole Miss is back in Texas on February 17 or 18 against Texas A&M. The Rebels host defending national champion Florida on Saturday, February 21. They round out the month against LSU (February 24 or 25) and at to Auburn (Saturday, February 28).
Ole Miss wraps the regular season with a midweek road game at Vanderbilt on March 3 or 4.
The Rebels host South Carolina on Saturday, March 7 in the 2025-26 finale.
“I think we’re in a really good spot,” Beard said in June of scheduling. “We’re playing coach (Rick) Pitino and St. John’s in Madison Square Garden, which are the kind of games we crave for, we ask for [and] we work tirelessly all year to try to find. There’s a lot of work to scheduling. We have the responsibility to play really good games for our season-ticket holders. That’s a challenge as well.
“But we’ll have Memphis coming back, which I think’s a great game for both teams. A lot of respect for Penny (Hardaway) and what they do. NCAA Tournament team, and the proximity of the two campuses, so that’s a good one.”
