The Denver Nuggets have had one of the best offseasons in the league, but their biggest departure is struggling to find a new home.

Over the past few weeks, the Nuggets have made some big moves to try and ascend back to the top of the Western Conference. While the Nuggets have added some depth and made a switch to their starting lineup, they are still going to be entering next season a bit thin at backup point guard, with Russell Westbrook likely out of the picture.

After declining his player option to begin the offseason, Westbrook’s next team still remains a mystery in early August. With Westbrook potentially still having to wait on dominoes like Jonathan Kuminga or Ben Simmons to fall, he might have to wait a bit longer to sign with a new team.

While those dominoes might need to fall for Westbrook to sign, he still has the ability to make an agreement with a new team before getting to sign, such as the widely expected situation in Golden State with Al Horford and others.

Of course, Westbrook’s other issue is that his market is not as big as it seemed it should be after his impact on Denver last season. In a recent article, Heat reporter Ira Winderman pointed out that Westbrook is simply unlikely to end up in Miami.

Citing the Heat’s guard depth and Westbrook’s outside shooting woes, Winderman was quite blunt on his chances of landing in Miami. Although the Heat have had interest in the former MVP in the past, it appears that a past-his-prime Brodie won’t be landing in South Beach.
