Manchester United’s spending spree is showing no signs of slowing down, as Ineos have ambitious plans to bolster Ruben Amorim’s squad.

United have stunned Newcastle United in the race for the signature of Benjamin Sesko. The Magpies made a bid in the region of €90m for the RB Leipzig sensation early this week. However, Sesko only wants to move to Old Trafford.

The Red Devils are now in talks with Leipzig to find an agreement over his transfer fee. According to David Ornstein, United are closing in on a deal to sign the Slovenian striker.

Interestingly, a report in The Athletic on Wednesday suggested Ineos are “exploring other positions” as well, despite their much-publicised financial predicament.

Now, a report in Spain claims the Mancunians are ready to go “all out” to sign a Barcelona talent.

Manchester United working on Lopez offer

According to Fichajes, Fermin Lopez has become United’s “main target” to strengthen their midfield.

It is reported that United are already “working on a proposal” that could be around €70m to convince Barca to part ways with the Spaniard.

The Catalan outfit are reluctant to cut ties with Lopez, who is considered one of their most promising players. However, their tricky financial situation could force them to consider United’s proposal.

The Premier League giants are confident that their offer “will entice the player” to Manchester.

As per CaughtOffside, United face competition from Chelsea for Lopez. It is claimed the Blues are preparing a significant bid for the Barcelona gem.

Man United should look elsewhere to improve their midfield

United definitely need a new midfielder. However, the 22-year-old’s profile doesn’t align with their priorities.

The Spain international is an attacking midfielder who likes to consistently enter the box. He was directly involved in an impressive 18 goals across all competitions last term.

However, United have a number of elite options to play behind the striker, including Bryan Mbeumo and Bruno Fernandes. Instead, Amorim would benefit from a more defensive-minded addition in the middle of the park.
