Estevao Willian names the one former Chelsea player he “watched the most”

New Chelsea winger Estevao Willian has named the one former Chelsea player that he watched the most before joining.

It’s been an exciting period for Chelsea fans in the lead up to young Brazilian winger Estevao Willian joining the club, and now he is finally here and ready to get to work at the club.

Estevao is a serious talent, everyone has been well aware of that and we can all see it. Blues fans will be looking forward to seeing him on the pitch very soon now.

And he has said his first words since joining Chelsea in his first interview on the Chelsea website.

Estevao watched a lot of Hazard

‘Eden Hazard is the one that I watched the most at Chelsea. He’s ace,’ Estevao said.

He also mentioned other former Brazilians who played for Chelsea.

‘It’s a pleasure to be here where so many Brazilians made history,’ Estevao said. ‘I hope to follow those who wrote a beautiful story here at Chelsea just like they did.’

Dream come true

‘It was a dream for me and my family [to play for a big European club] and I can realise it now,’ he said, excitedly.

And on why he decided to join Chelsea, Estevao said:

‘Their plans, the structure and the club. Everything. But mainly the plans and the project the club has is what interested me and my family, and I think it was the best decision we could have made.’

He seems like a very switched on young lad and mature beyond his years. I think we will see how mature he is on the pitch as well, because he certainly doesn’t play like a young and inexperienced player.
