Kelsey Plum is in the middle of her first season with the Los Angeles Sparks after being traded from the Las Vegas Aces in a three-team deal this past offseason.

Plum helped lead the Aces to two WNBA titles before making the move to Los Angeles. While the Sparks are off to a slow start, there's still optimism, especially with Plum’s leadership and the expected return of Cameron Brink.

The Sparks faced the Indiana Fever on Saturday night in Indianapolis, their second meeting in just over a week. Los Angeles won the first matchup, and Plum did her best in the first half to spark another win.

At halftime, the WNBA highlighted her performance with a message on social media:

"KELSEY. PLUM. TAKEOVER 3 CONSECUTIVE BUCKETS PUTS HER AT 11 PTS!"

Heading into Saturday’s game, Plum ranked fourth in the WNBA in scoring, averaging 20.1 points per game. The former Washington Huskies star, who turns 31 in August, remains the offensive focal point for a team trying to find consistency.

In her previous game against the Fever, Plum played 35 minutes and scored 21 points. It was the second of three straight games in which she scored at least 20. She leads a Sparks offense that ranks eighth in the league at 81.6 points per game.

Despite Plum’s efforts, the Sparks were 5-13 entering the weekend and sat seventh in the Western Conference. They had lost two in a row and seven of their last ten.

Los Angeles will finally return home on Thursday, when they host the defending Western Conference champion Minnesota Lynx.
