Jeremiyah Love Notre Dame

The Walter Camp player of the year award announced its watch list on Monday, and Notre Dame junior running back Jeremiyah Love was selected for it. The award is presented annually to the collegiate football player of the year.

According to the Fighting Irish media communications team, four Notre Dame players have been named the Walter Camp Player of the Year in the award’s history: TE Ken MacAfee (1977), FL Tim Brown (1987), FL Raghib Ismail (1990) and LB Manti Te’o (2012).

Love, who named to the Maxwell Award Watch List, rushed 163 times for 1,125 yards and 17 touchdowns, adding 28 receptions for 237 yards and 2 touchdowns as a pass-catcher in his breakout 2024 campaign. He scored a touchdown in each of his first 13 games as a sophomore.

While a lingering knee injury hampered him in the College Football Playoff, he still delivered two of the most memorable runs in recent Notre Dame history: a 98-yard scamper to open the scoring in the first round against Indiana and a 2-yard run that included 4 broken tackles in the Orange Bowl against Penn State.

Earlier in the month, Jeremiyah Love and Irish cornerback Leonard Moore were listed as Walter Camp first-team preseason All-Americans.
