This was unexpected.
Bronny James is on the Lakers' Summer League roster.
It's expected that LeBron's son will suit up for Los Angeles this summer to improve his game heading into year two.
But there's a problem: Bronny wasn't on the court to open the Lakers' Summer League campaign.

Why isn't Bronny James playing?
Bronny James wasn't on the gameday roster for the Los Angeles Lakers on Saturday against the Golden State Warriors in the Summer League's opening California Classic.
Bronny was in street clothes at the game, not suited up.

There was no official announcement on Bronny's status.
Speculation would lead to believe that Bronny won't play in the California Classic portion of Summer League before suiting up once action begins in Las Vegas at the big event.
But there's also a chance he has another reason to sit out.
Until the Lakers let us know, we can't be sure. But the fact that Bronny is there at all suggests that eventually he will suit up for this summer squad.
