Inter Miami CF supporters' hearts stopped when Lionel Messi went down with an injury against Necaxa in the Leagues Cup on Saturday night.
His teammate, Venezuelan midfielder Telasco Segovia, was the first to share a message directly from the injured star.
What Happened to Lionel Messi?
The Herons would go on to take the match in penalty kicks after it finished 2-2 in regulation, but the main concern was with Messi, who was substituted out of the match for Federico Redondo.
The Inter Miami captain took a seat on the ground following an attempt to dribble through multiple opposing defenders from the Liga MX side.

"Leo felt discomfort in his hamstring," IMCF head coach Javier Mascherano confirmed after the match, "that’s why he came off."
Mascherano said there will be no official update on the severity of the injury until Messi undergoes medical testing on Sunday.
Telasco Segovia Shares Message From Messi After Injury
Less than a minute after Messi left the game, Segovia scored to put Inter Miami ahead 1-0.
Segovia told reporters that he spoke to Messi and the Argentinian superstar told Segovia "he was fine" even though that will not outweigh the opinion of medical professionals.

Segovia's words lined up with Mascherano's post-match assessment — they both confirmed that Messi did not feel pain in his leg.
It was little more than discomfort, but that was enough of a concern to withdraw the 38-year-old from the match.
What's Next for Messi, Inter Miami?
Unconfirmed reports have suggested Messi could miss up to three to four weeks if he is diagnosed with a non-severe hamstring injury.
That timeline would keep the eight-time Ballon d'Or winner out of the rest of Inter Miami's Leagues Cup campaign.
The Herons are in good position to advance to the quarterfinals after picking up five points from their first two matches, with one group phase fixture remaining against Pumas UNAM on Wednesday.
After that, IMCF returns to Major League Soccer action for the final stretch of the season, with games in August against Orlando City, LA Galaxy, D.C. United and Chicago Fire that Messi could be in danger of missing.
Once the scans come back, Inter Miami will have to decide how conservative to be with their irreplaceable superstar. The ultimate goal of an MLS Cup is still months away, but a chance to lift the Leagues Cup again will be front of mind.
