Enzo Maresca has made a decision on a forgotten Chelsea man future at the club.
David Datro Fofana is a forgotten man at Chelsea, having not played a game for the first team since 2023.
Since signing from Molde in January 2023, Fofana has made only three appearances for the club.
His chances of featuring for Chelsea ever again have depleted even further, given the summer arrivals of Liam Delap and Joao Pedro.
The striker was not part of Enzo Mareca’s plans last season, and it looks unlikely that this will change ahead of the new season.
With several players heading for the exit door at Stamford Bridge, it appears that Maresca has a decision to make regarding Fofana.
To his credit, Maresca has not backed down from making tough decisions and has reportedly made up his mind about the player’s future.

Enzo Maresca decides David Datro Fofana can leave
According to TEAMtalk, the Chelsea manager is open to selling the Ivorian during this transfer window, which makes sense given the strikers at Maresca’s disposal.
Along with Delap and Joao Pedro, Maresca can also call up Nicolas Jackson, though he has been linked with a move away from Stamford Bridge.
Since Fofana has hardly played in the Premier League, it's not a surprise that he is not attracting interest from any Premier League club.
Rather, according to the above-mentioned report, clubs in Italy and France are interested in signing the striker, which is interesting since he is yet to play in those countries.
Finally, given all the signings that Chelsea have made in the striker position, one would expect Fofana’s transfer to be a permanent one.
