Newcastle's conditions for Isak sale
The Magpies had been hopeful of tying Isak down to new terms - with his £120k per week contract extending to 2028 - but he wants to leave for Liverpool.
And there is now a crack in Newcastle’s armour - with transfer insider Craig Hope admitting that the North East club are willing to sell.
That is as long as their conditions are met. Liverpool must pay the price - with Newcastle reportedly seeking £150m - and the club must also sign a replacement.
"It's quite clear now," says expert
Talks are advancing for Benjamin Sesko of RB Leipzig as well as Brentford’s Yoane Wissa. Should these prerequisites be met then it’s safe to assume that Newcastle will trigger a sale for Isak.
“Alexander Isak wants to join Liverpool,” Hope told his YouTube audience. “Liverpool want to sign Alexander Isak. The third domino: Will Newcastle sell?
“Newcastle, it’s quite clear now, are at least open to the option of exploring a sale—evidenced by their pursuit of Benjamin Šeško and Yoane Wissa.
Craig Hope: We will see movement
“Fans might want to think differently, but Newcastle are not going to sign Wissa, Šeško, and keep Alexander Isak as well.
“There’s a recognition on the Newcastle side of Isak’s determination to move, and an opportunity, with three years left on his deal, to extract maximum value.
“That’s why I’ve always been consistent in saying: if the right things happen— A) Liverpool offer the money B) Newcastle have replacements lined up —then I think we’ll see movement.”
