The Sacramento Kings have been busy trying to upgrade their roster and compete for a playoff spot in the loaded Western Conference next season.

Of course, the Kings missed the playoffs last season after being eliminated in the Play-In Tournament by the Dallas Mavericks and they are bringing back their core of Domantas Sabonis, DeMar DeRozan and Zach LaVine next season.

Sacramento has also made some key additions to their roster this offseason as they landed Dennis Schroder in free agency and both Nique Clifford and Maxime Raynaud in the 2025 draft.

They have also been linked to many different players in free agency but one name that has continued to come up in rumors is Golden State Warriors forward Jonathan Kuminga.

Kuminga is currently a restricted free agent and if the Kings want to add him to their roster, they are going to have to pull off a sign-and-trade deal with the Warriors for him.

On Friday, The Athletic’s Sam Amick reported that the Warriors shut down another trade offer from the Kings for Kuminga.

According to Amick, the Kings offered Kuminga a three-year, $63 million contract in a potential sign-and-trade that would send Malik Monk and a 2030 lottery protected first-round pick to Golden State.

Amick also mentioned in his report that the Warriors rejected this offer due to them wanting an unprotected first-round pick in a trade for Kuminga.

While this is not the news the Kings wanted, there is a great sign in this report as it appears as though the Warriors are open to acquiring Monk as part of a sign-and-trade for Kuminga.

Of course, it was reported earlier this offseason that the Warriors were targeting either Keegan Murray or Keon Ellis from the Kings after they declined a trade that included Devin Carter, Dario Saric and a protected first-round pick.

Because of this, the Kings could offer the Warriors an unprotected first-round pick and Monk in the future that may be a good enough deal for Golden State to send them Kuminga.
