The Hungarian Grand Prix will close out the first half of the 2025 Formula 1 season, and all eyes are on the weather as teams prepare for a potentially unpredictable weekend.

Following two dramatic wet-dry races at Silverstone and Spa, fans are wondering if rain will once again play a role at the Hungaroring. Traditionally known for its hot, dry summer conditions, Budapest often delivers scorching race weekends — but this year’s forecast suggests something different.

For Friday’s practice sessions, mainly sunny conditions are expected with temperatures hovering around 28°C, although there’s still a slight chance of a passing shower in the afternoon.

Saturday’s qualifying day looks less stable, starting sunny before cloud cover increases and showers become possible in the afternoon, with highs again around 28°C.

Race day, however, is where things get interesting. Forecast models indicate a high chance of overnight rain, with Sunday morning carrying a moderate-to-high chance of additional showers before easing slightly around race time.

As it stands, the chance of rain for the Grand Prix is 60%, with temperatures expected to sit around 27°C at lights out.

Last year’s Hungarian GP produced fireworks when Oscar Piastri claimed his maiden Formula 1 victory ahead of teammate Lando Norris, in what was an intra-team battle for the ages. Both drivers have already expressed their love for the track, setting up another intriguing showdown.

Whether the rain returns to shake up strategies remains to be seen, but teams and drivers will be watching the skies as closely as the timing screens.
