AC Milan have made Darwin Nunez their first-choice striker target for the 2025 summer transfer window, according to Sky Italia.
The Serie A giants are preparing a strong push to sign the forward, who has struggled to establish himself at Liverpool over the past three seasons.
Nunez arrived at Anfield off the back of an impressive 34-goal campaign with Benfica that convinced Liverpool to break their transfer record at the time for him.
However, the Uruguayan has only managed to find the back of the net 40 times in 143 matches for his current employers, with his Merseyside stint largely characterised by erratic finishing and a lack of composure in front of goal.
This has led Liverpool to put him on the transfer market this summer as the Reds target a move for Alexander Isak despite having already brought in Hugo Ekitike.
Milan will have to fend off interest from Al-Hilal to land Nunez, as the Saudi Arabian giants also plot a move to land the 26-year-old.
Having recently missed out on Victor Osimhen, Al-Hilal have shifted their focus to Nunez and are ready to meet Liverpool’s reported £70 million valuation.
While Al-Hilal’s financial power gives them confidence in the race to sign Nunez, the striker’s preference is to remain in European football if given the opportunity after his links with a switch to Napoli earlier in the window.
The finances involved in a potential deal for Nunez make Milan’s quest to sign him a difficult one, but the Rossoneri are not giving up.
