The UIL playoffs are raging on for Texas high school basketball.
As the girls are finishing up their tournament at the Alamodome this weekend, the boys are still deciding who will play for a state crown. Several regional finals will be played Friday.
Central Texas schools Wimberley, a Class 4A program, and Westlake, in Class 6A, both play Friday in the regional finals. Wimberley will play La Marque at James Earl Rudder High School and Westlake will face off against Judson at Buda Hays for a spots in their respective semifinals.
The Chaps built a 21-point lead at halftime against Schertz Clemens in a regional semifinal. But mistakes made the game closer and Westlake came out on top for the 64-54 win. Wimberley crushed Jubilee Brownsville, 106-52.
The state semifinals will be held Monday and Tuesday in San Antonio.
