Jaylen Brown wants the Boston Celtics to quickly move on from Wednesday's 118-89 loss to the Charlotte Hornets.

The cruising Celtics hit a massive speed bump in their most lopsided loss of the 2024-25 season. After the game, per WEEI's Justin Turpin, Brown said the performance wasn't representative of how the team usually plays.

Brown, who posted 20 points alongside a team-high 11 rebounds and seven assists, took blame for the letdown.

"Flush it," Brown said. "Today wasn't characteristic of us. That wasn't Celtic basketball. They had more energy than us. That hasn't happened a lot all season long. Today wasn’t the best example of Celtic basketball, and we all can be better. And being a leader, I take accountability."

Derrick White scored 29 points, but no Celtic beyond him and Brown reached double-digits on Wednesday. The team shot 38 percent from the floor and only made 10 of 28 three-point attempts.

The Celtics have won 12 of their last 15 games, but they were outscored by a combined 70 points in the three blowout defeats. They've recovered the last two times, following a 111-89 loss to the New York Knicks with a 19-point win over the Chicago Bulls and bouncing back from a 103-84 loss to the Denver Nuggets by throttling the Brooklyn Nets with 148 points.

Despite Wednesday's slip-up, Brown still believes he and the Celtics are on the right track. They'll look to turn the page when hosting the Dallas Mavericks on Friday night.

“I feel great," Brown said. "I feel like we haven't skipped any steps. We've played the game the right way, made the right plays, played unselfishly, played together. So, I'm proud of where we're at. We just got to keep it up. Every game is an opportunity to learn and get better. Tonight is no different.”
