Real Madrid ready to pay €30m for Tottenham Hotspur defender – report

Real Madrid are reportedly preparing an initial move to strengthen their defence ahead of the upcoming transfer window, with Pedro Porro emerging as a key target.

According to a report from Fichajes, the Spanish giants are planning to submit an opening offer worth around €30 million to sign the Tottenham Hotspur right-back.

Real Madrid have identified Porro as an ideal option to reinforce the right side of their defence, especially with the club preparing for a potential transition in that position.

Veteran defender Dani Carvajal has been an important figure at the club for years, but injuries and age have started to impact his availability.

Because of that, Madrid are planning ahead to ensure the squad remains competitive at the highest level.

Pedro Porro in demand

Porro is seen as a player who could fit well into the tactical structure of the team.

His attacking qualities and ability to support the forward line make him a modern full-back capable of contributing both defensively and offensively.

Another factor behind Real Madrid’s interest is the need to strengthen squad depth.

The club understands that competing simultaneously in La Liga and the UEFA Champions League requires more than just a strong starting XI.

As a result, Madrid want players who can compete for places and maintain a high level of performance throughout a demanding season.

Tottenham are in trouble

Furthermore, the situation at Tottenham could also play a role in the potential transfer.

Reports suggest that Real Madrid are monitoring the sporting difficulties the Premier League club is facing, which could influence the market value of several players.

If Tottenham continue to struggle, the Spanish club believe there may be an opportunity to negotiate a favourable deal.

Within Madrid’s current structure, despite the temporary situation on the sidelines concerning Alvaro Arbeloa, the club remains focused on strengthening key areas of the squad.

The plan would be for Porro to arrive not only as a backup option but as a genuine competitor for a starting place.
