SEVIERVILLE, Tenn. (WATE) — After trailing at the half, the Sevier County girls basketball team came from behind to defeat Morristown East 46-40 in the Class 4A Region 1 Final Wednesday night.

The Lady Hurricanes jumped out to a 12-9 lead at the end of the first quarter, and kept that pace with a 26-24 advantage going into halftime. The Bearettes rallied to outscore Mo-East by six points in the third.

Sevier County maintained their slight advantage in the fourth quarter and closed it out with tough stops on defense.

With the win, Sevier County improved to 24-5 on the season and will host Farragut in 4A sectionals. Mo-East fell to 25-7 and will visit Bearden in a do-or-die road matchup.

Both Sevier County and Morristown East will play their sectional matchups on Saturday, March 7. Winner of each sectional will advance to the Class 4A Final Four.
