Jean Silva and Bryce Mitchell are running it back in a submission match
Jean Silva and Bryce Mitchell are running back one of the stranger feuds in recent memory.
Hype Brazil announced Wednesday that Silva and Mitchell are set to meet in a submission-only grappling match at the promotion’s upcoming event in Rio de Janeiro on March 11. The UFC featherweights previously fought under MMA rules at UFC 314 in 2025, when Silva defeated Mitchell via second-round ninja choke.
See the announcement below.
Silva vs. Mitchell joins a card that also features former “BMF” champion Jorge Masvidal in a submission-only grappling match against UFC middleweight Shara Bullet. However, the card recently took a hit with Arman Tsarukyan being scheduled and then pulled from the card when a prospective grudge match with George Poullas was canceled. Tsarukyan and Poullas will likely face off in Real American Freestyle again, following Tsarukyan’s recent win over Poullas that ended in a chaotic post-fight brawl.
Ahead of the first Silva-Mitchell matchup, the deeply spiritual Mitchell accused Silva of sending “legions of demons” to haunt his dreams. Silva responded, writing on X, “Bryce, two things, these are not demons, it’s just you being afraid to face me and second about the beautiful women you have a hormone called testosterone and you probably have problems with it.”
Since their first encounter, Silva has gone 1-1 with a loss to Diego Lopes followed by a win over Arnold Allen to keep himself in the featherweight title hunt, while Mitchell rebounded from the defeat by winning a decision over Said Nurmagomedov.
