Spurs Injury Update: Latest Return Dates for Tottenham Squad
Tottenham’s season has demanded patience, resilience and a steady stream of updates from the treatment room. For Spurs supporters, the rhythm of the campaign has been shaped as much by injuries as by performances on the pitch.
Ahead of their clash with Crystal Palace, there has been a small measure of relief for Tottenham. Some players are edging closer to a return, while others remain weeks or months away from contributing again. Spurs continue to navigate a campaign that has required depth, adaptability and careful management of fitness.
Fresh Concern Over Djed Spence
Even as Spurs welcome a few positive signs on the injury front, Djed Spence has become the latest concern.
The defender missed Tottenham’s trip to Fulham after suffering a calf injury, raising questions about his immediate availability. His absence from the matchday squad at Craven Cottage caught many by surprise.
Reports suggest the issue is minor, though Tottenham have yet to confirm when Spence will be ready to return. Spurs face Crystal Palace on March 5, but his involvement remains uncertain for now.
For a squad that has already endured disruption in defence this season, even a short absence for Spence could test Tottenham’s depth once again.
Midfield Absences Continue to Affect Spurs
Several midfield players remain sidelined, limiting Spurs options in central areas.
Lucas Bergvall has been out since January after sustaining an ankle injury during Tottenham’s 2-0 win over Borussia Dortmund. The midfielder underwent surgery and was initially ruled out for up to three months.
Encouraging updates from Sweden have suggested progress in his recovery, with Bergvall no longer wearing a protective boot. There is even speculation he could be available for Sweden’s World Cup play off against Ukraine later this month, though Spurs are expected to take a cautious approach.
Mohammed Kudus is also continuing his recovery. The midfielder suffered a hamstring injury in Tottenham’s 1-1 draw with Sunderland on January 4 and was ruled out for up to three months.
In February it was reported that Kudus travelled to Amsterdam to consult a specialist familiar from his Ajax days. Spurs remain hopeful he will return to full training after the March international break.

The left back picked up a hamstring injury against Manchester United on February 7. Tottenham confirmed he would miss around four to five weeks.
Manager Igor Tudor has taken a cautious tone when discussing injured players. Speaking ahead of the Fulham match, he said: “It’s a weekly basis. When they come, they come.”
He added: “We need to be focused on the way, and also, how they come back into the team. Also, the main important thing is, in time, they are recovering to put them in good condition, so when they come back, they are in good shape. Otherwise, it’s a problem.”
For Spurs, careful reintegration may prove as important as the return itself.
Long Term Injuries Still Impact Spurs Squad
Some Tottenham players face significantly longer waits before returning.
Dejan Kulusevski has not played since last season due to a patella injury, while Rodrigo Bentancur is recovering from hamstring surgery following January’s defeat to Bournemouth.
Ben Davies suffered a broken ankle in a 2-1 defeat to West Ham and may not play for Spurs again, with his contract set to expire this summer.
Wilson Odobert also faces a lengthy recovery after a serious knee injury against Newcastle that required surgery. Tottenham have confirmed his return is unlikely before late 2026.
James Maddison remains sidelined with a knee injury suffered in pre season and is not expected to feature again this campaign.
For Spurs, the coming weeks will test squad depth once again. Injuries continue to shape Tottenham’s season, though gradual returns could offer fresh momentum as the campaign moves toward its closing stages.
