Kentucky had six players on the court during a possession and the SEC officials missed it originally appeared on The Sporting News. Add The Sporting News as a Preferred Source by clicking here.
There was something in the air with a couple SEC basketball games on Tuesday night.
After Alabama went on a defensive possession with four players against Georgia, Kentucky said, "hold my beer." The Wildcats had six players on the floor during a free throw attempt against Texas A&M. But perhaps the best part is, none of the three SEC officials noticed the extra substitution on the play.
You wonder how this could happen, and yet it's another reason why math is fundamental.

As for the game itself, the Aggies took care of business with a 96-85 win. This was a must-win contest for Mark Pope's Kentucky team to stay in the at-large category for the NCAA Tournament. Now the Wildcats will have to boost their resume in the SEC tourney to remain a No. 6 seed, according to ESPN's Joe Lunardi and the latest Bracketology.
The SEC is projected to have 10 teams in the NCAA tournament, along with Auburn as the first team out. All four teams mentioned previously are expected to be part of the field of 68 in two weeks.
