Nets depth chart for 2025-26 NBA season after offseason moves

The Brooklyn Nets have had one of the more interesting offseasons in the NBA so here is the depth chart after all of the moves that the team has made.

The Brooklyn Nets have been one of the more interesting teams in the NBA this offseason due to the nature of the moves they made over the course of the summer. Brooklyn went into the 2025 NBA Draft armed with four first-round picks that were sure to add plenty of youth to the roster before acquiring another first-round pick and forward Terance Mann from the Atlanta Hawks.

Once the Nets had five first-round picks at their disposal, many around the league expected Brooklyn to package some of those picks in an effort to get a solid young player to manipulate their positioning within the Draft itself. Much to the surprise of everyone following the Nets' draft, they used all five of their picks, headlined by taking BYU guard Egor Demin with the eighth overall pick.

Once free-agency began shortly after the Draft, the Nets continued adding players and draft capital to the roster by trading forward Cam Johnson to the Denver Nuggets for forward Michael Porter Jr. and a 2032 first-round pick. With the offseason slowing down, it's time to project what the Nets' depth chart for the 2025-26 season will look like.

For the purposes of this article, it will be assumed that restricted free-agent guard Cam Thomas will be re-signed to the roster.

Point Guard

Starter: Egor Demin

Bench: Nolan Traore, Ben Saraf

While head coach Jordi Fernandez has been willing to allow multiple players to have the ball in their hands, this will most likely be the point guard rotation for the upcoming season. While guys like Thomas and Keon Johnson could have the ball in their hands at certain points, it seems that Brooklyn would be acting in its best interest by allowing Demin, Traore, and Saraf to learn the position full-time.

Starter: Cam Thomas

Bench: Terance Mann, Dariq Whitehead, Keon Johnson, Tyson Etienne

As mentioned above, this article will assume that Thomas will be re-signed to the roster given the nature of restricted free-agency and how there hasn't bee much buzz about Thomas drawing attention from other teams. With Thomas returning, he would be the best player that the Nets can put in this spot and depending on his next contract, he could be motivated to surpass his career-best season last year.

Small Forward

Michael Porter Jr. will be relied on to provide the scoring punch for the Nets this season.

Starter: Michael Porter Jr.

Bench: Ziaire Williams, Tyrese Martin, Drake Powell, Tosan Evbuomwan

This spot will be one of the interesting ones to see how Fernandez approaches the position given that Porter could play at small forward or power forward depending on what the team is looking for. If Porter starts at small forward, that presumably allows Noah Clowney to be the starting power forward and continue his development heading into this third NBA season. However, there is an argument to be made that Brooklyn could be better with Williams starting at small forward with Porter starting at power forward.

Power Forward

Starter: Noah Clowney

Bench: Jalen Wilson, Danny Wolf

Assuming that Porter is starting at small forward, it makes sense that Clowney would be starting at power forward, especially given the strides that he made during the 2024-25 season. Clowney showed last season that he could operate as the stretch power forward and while he still has his flaws when it comes to finishing at the rim and dealing with physicality, Brooklyn would be best served to see what Clowney has during his third season in the league.

Center

Starter: Nic Claxton

Bench: Day'Ron Sharpe, Drew Timme

It's not a hot take to say that Claxton should be the starting center heading into the 2025-26 season, especially considering how consistent he has been over the past three seasons since he put himself on the map during the days of Kevin Durant and Kyrie Irving. Given how Timme played during the 2025 NBA Las Vegas Summer League, it will be interesting to see who will earn more minutes as the backup between him and Sharpe.
