Bologna FC: Oussama El Azzouzi joins Auxerre on loan

The Moroccan midfielder joins AJA for one season to gain more playing time.

Oussama El Azzouzi has signed with AJ Auxerre this Friday, August 1, 2025. The Moroccan defensive midfielder joins the French top-flight club on a season-long loan from Bologna, the Serie A side.

The 24-year-old Moroccan international will bolster Auxerre's midfield during the 2025-2026 campaign. The Burgundy-based club has officially announced the arrival of Oussama El Azzouzi, who is under contract with Bologna, on a straightforward loan deal.

"AJA is delighted to announce the arrival of Oussama El Azzouzi! The 24-year-old defensive midfielder joins us on loan for one season from Bologna, a Serie A (Italy) club, and will wear the number 17 shirt. Known for his vision and ability to win back possession, Oussama will bring his experience and fighting spirit to Christophe Pélissier’s squad," wrote the Ligue 1 club.

Transferred to Bologna in the summer of 2024, El Azzouzi scored twice and provided two assists in his first Serie A season. His momentum was slowed by an injury during the last campaign. He now arrives at Auxerre aiming to regain his rhythm and contribute to Christophe Pélissier’s project.
